Self-Catering holiday Farm Cottage in Dumfries and Galloway Hills easy reach Kirkcudbright, Kippford and Solway coast.  No extra charges for electric etc or WiFi

Thank you for looking at our Farm Cottage (also known as Garden Cottage).   We pay more attention to taking care of our cottage than looking after this website !   Still we hope you find it useful.   The area is great whichever cottage or accomodation you eventually choose.  Have a nice holiday.

The cottage is situated on a private road which passes through the pastures of the farm and under a canopy of beautiful trees .    It is near the top of a hill surrounded by beautiful landscape with Lock Ken in the distance. It is a great place from which to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Galloway Hills. Kirkcudbright and the Solway coast are just a short drive away. See some visitor descriptions below.  The cottage is not just a holiday cottage, Paul and I  often stay in the cottage when not being used by visitors.  So we try very hard to keep it a nice place to stay.  Recently completely refurbished.

The cottage has two double bedrooms though they are not big, visitors repeatedly descibe them as comfortable especially beds. The cottage is generally furnished with good quality comfortable furniture..  Although in the heart of farm land it is less than 1.5 miles to Castle Douglas, a designated Food Town with many restrauants in and around.

Visitors from Devon to the Highlands and Europe have frequently and kindly described the cottage as: quiet; excellent; well appointed; great location; homely; superb; peaceful; very comfortable; etc. (repeated by almost every visitor who writes in book is a reference to - clean, comfortable and the area generally (beautiful, splendid, idyllic etc) Some extracts from the Visitors book follow below.

Comments going back from this year " What a lovely clean wee cottage. Everything needed and just where you need it.  " The area is full of surprises and great to explore" "Another lovely week at this beautiful cottage",  " Well equipped hope to return next year"; "We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautifully presented and well equipped & very cosy cottage"  "We had a wonderful time visiting various locations" "Castle Douglas, a beautiful town. We have been pleased to receive similar comments going back over years.  (years 2017,16,15, and 14 are all in the book but accidently deleted here) Will reinsert them later.
